If you can be lost in music you can find yourself in it too – and certainly, in Iraina’s case, both applied equally. By day, she would bounce between bar work, acting jobs and the occasional modelling assignment. At night, she was playing the records that would fast- fossilise her passions into a single source of creative fuel, resulting in the songs that would make up her debut album Undo The Blue( released by Needle Mythology Records ).
Since its release last month, Undo The Blue has been rapturously received by fans and critics alike. Shindig Magazine hymned “a playfully radical first album… perfectly amalgamating disco, psych, pop and rock”, while The Times singled out Iraina’s “intoxicating way with a melody”, describing her as “a new heroine to make us swoon.” Iraina has also enjoyed strong support from several DJs across BBC 6 Music, all echoing the sentiments of early supporter Lauren Laverne, who declared that “this is an artist I absolutely love.”
